North Brisbane Police with the support of Westfield Chermside and community partners have had a successful day promoting the ‘Not in our Community’ Domestic and Family Violence message at an interactive display on Wednesday May 17 as part of Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month.
The display featured experienced counsellors, refuge workers and police and drew the community’s attention to the ongoing Domestic and Family Violence ‘Not Now, Not Ever’ campaign, a topic which several years ago received little attention in the broader community.
The 2017 Domestic and Family Violence Safety Card which features DFV support agency contact details was distributed along with many other brochures highlighting the availability of support options.
Westfield Chermside are further supporting the campaign by displaying the DFV Safety Card posters in their public toilet areas, which provide the current DFV agency phone numbers.
North Brisbane District Crime and Support Services Superintendent Mark Reid participated in the display.
