The Queensland Police Service were invited to attend ‘Back to Shorncliffe’ day hosted by St Patrick’s College. The biggest sporting event of the year for St Pat’s featured numerous games of rugby and soccer played between St Pat’s and Padua. With the highlight of the day played at 3.15pm the Year 12’s A grade teams from St Pat’s and Padua, St Pat’s winning on this occasion.
The QPS, St Pat’s and Padua all showed their commitment and support of the domestic and family violence theme ‘Not in our Sporting Teams.’
The QPS, accompanied by the Mobile Police Community Office Van, set up a domestic violence information display on the day.
At the main event the A grade rugby team players showed their respect by wearing white armbands and also having a minute’s silence for those who have lost their lives to domestic violence.
