Queenslanders are actively being encouraged to take a road trip in our state through the Queensland, you’re Good to Go tourism campaign.
With this in mind, we are reminding Queensland drivers to Keep safe this road trip.
We want everyone who is planning on taking a road trip over the upcoming school holidays to make safety their top priority.
Despite the decrease in traffic volumes this year, the number of lives lost on Queensland roads in 2020 stands at 108 (as at June 17), which is 14 more than the road toll at the same time last year.
With more traffic expected on the roads due to intrastate travel restrictions being lifted and people being encouraged to take a road trip, we are encouraging everyone to remember some simple road safety reminders to stay safe over the holiday break:
Slow down, stay safe. And drive to the conditions
Take a break every two hours
Make sure you always buckle
