The Gateway Crime Prevention Team, along with the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR), Volunteers In Policing (ViP’s), Crime Stoppers, and Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC) ‘Braking the Cycle’,  had their last event for Queensland Road Safety Week today at the Taigum Shopping Centre.
Although Queensland Road Safety Week is coming to an end today, it does not mean that police are forgetting all about it, and neither should you.
Our message continues to be vitally important that road safety is everyone’s business and we all have a role to play.

Heading into the weekend, police want to remind community members to continue being safe on our roads while driving long distances.
Did you know that in 2018, 31 people died and a further 472 people were seriously injured in crashes involving fatigue?
Here are some tips to avoid fatigue when driving:

Avoid driving at times when you are normally sleeping;
