Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate those responsible for a sickening attack on a 17-year-old family pet at a Bardon residence on Friday.
“Scruffy” the Maltese terrier was found deceased by his distraught owners at their Northam Avenue home on April 21.
It is believed sometime between 10.30am and 3.00pm the dog was attacked in the yard of the house.
A towel was removed from the clothes line and tied around his neck.
The dog was then bound by the towel to a plant at the rear of the dwelling where he was later located deceased.
Police are appealing for anyone with information regarding the incident or who may have seen anything suspicious in the area at the time of the offence to contact Policelink on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
