Assault investigation, Chermside

Police are hoping the public can assist with an investigation into an assault at Chermside last week.
Around 4.30pm on Saturday December 16, a 34-year-old local man was walking to Westfield Chermside when he was verbally harassed by a group of young people on Hamilton Road between Kingsmill and Charlotte streets.
The man ignored the harassment and kept walking, however when he approached the intersection of Charlotte Street and Hamilton Road, he was pushed and shoved by a number of people in the group before he was punched in the face a number of times.
The group then fled on foot west towards the McDonald’s Chermside car park.
The man received medical treatment at The Prince Charles Hospital for lacerations, facial and jaw injuries and headaches.
The area around where the assault occurred was busy with people arriving or leaving in vehicles to do Christmas shopping.
