Join us to ‘Orange the World’ this Thursday

Police puppy from the K-litter getting into the Orange the World spirit!
This Thursday officers from the North Brisbane District Domestic Violence Prevention group will be at Westfield Chermside (outside Kmart) between 9am and 8pm to raise awareness about violence against women.
North Brisbane Police invite you to come along and learn about local services and how to support people in your community.
The kids will love a ride in the police car which will be onsite.
The day will also feature a very special guest appearance from our new police puppies who will be out at this event from 11:30am to 1pm.
Make sure you don’t miss a chance to see them!
This event is being held by the North side Alliance against Domestic Violence (NAADV) and supports the Orange the World campaign.
Orange the World is a 16-day global campaign of activism against gender violence between November 25 and December 10.

Dogs on Patrol at the Dog Lovers show was a hit

We had a great time at the recent Dog Lovers Show at the Royal Convention Centre in Brisbane with our Dogs on Patrol display.

Police, Community Supporting Police volunteers, Neighbourhood Watch Queensland Stafford members and Volunteers in Policing were all on hand to speak with the 12,000+ visitors that attended the show over both days to learn more about Dog on Patrol.
Visitors to our stand learned how to continue keeping their own neighbourhoods staying safe all whilst walking their dog in their own neighbourhood.
We also got to meet Aussie Dog Guy – Ryan Anderson – the biggest dog lover and rescue dog advocate which was very exciting for the Dogs on Patrol team.
We had a great weekend at the first ever Brisbane Dog Lovers show and hope to attend next year for the return of Dog Lovers Show to Brisbane in 2018.

Appeal for witnesses – traffic crash, Samford

Officers from the Forensic Crash Unit investigating a traffic crash that occurred near Samford Village earlier this morning are appealing for witnesses.
At 9am a three-vehicle crash occurred on Samford Road between Bygotts Road and Havelock Court.
The initial two vehicle collision occurred between eastbound and westbound vehicles travelling on Samford Road, with one of the one vehicles becoming wedged down an embankment and the other flipping on to its roof.
Both drivers, and sole occupants of their vehicles, were trapped for a period of time before being transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
An 88-year-old man from The Gap sustained minor injuries and a 42-year-old woman from Draper sustained serious injuries.
A third vehicle, travelling behind one of the cars, was involved in the accident, however the driver, a 57-year-old Ferny Hills man was not injured.

Significant drug seizure, North Brisbane

Police have charged two people following an investigation which led to the location of 24,000 MDMA pills in North Brisbane yesterday.
Detectives from Fortitude Valley Criminal Investigation Branch executed a search warrant at an address in Albion around 3pm yesterday afternoon.
It will be alleged during a search of the property, officers located five large plastic bags containing 7.3kg of pills believed to be MDMA (Ecstasy).
The bags are believed to contain around 24,000 pills with an estimated street value of up to $1 million.
A 28-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man who were taken into custody at the scene have both been charged with possession of dangerous drugs and are due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning.
Detective Inspector Glen Farmer, City Valley Crime Group said the location of such a large amount of dangerous drugs was concerning for police.
