Attempted burglary, Chermside
Police are investigating the attempted burglary of an ATM at Chermside this morning.
Around 3.30am, two people wearing protective face masks have broken into a shopping centre bunker containing an ATM on Webster Road.
The two people involved appear to have been disturbed and were unable to gain entry to the machine and fled empty handed soon after.
The pair were last seen leaving the address in a dark utility.
Investigations are continuing.

Police close drug trafficking operation
Detectives from the Northern Major and Organised Crime Squad (MOCS) have closed an operation targeting the suspected trafficking of illicit drugs.
Operation Papa Orthograde began in March this year and identified a number of people allegedly involved in a drug trafficking syndicate operating between Townsville and South East Queensland.
Over the past two days, officers from the Townsville Tactical Crime Squad, Northern MOCS and Brisbane’s Drug and Serious Crime Group finalised the operation, which saw 32 people charged with 151 drug-related offences.
Drugs with a street value in excess of $1million were seized and included Ice, MDMA, cocaine and cannabis.
During the investigation police also seized a quantity of cash and weapons.
All of those charged will appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court over the next month.
Detective Senior Sergeant Mick Walker of the Northern Major and Organised Crime Squad said officers will continue to target those engaging in criminal activity in Queensland.

This week Boondall Police have hit the bikes to patrol their community.
Officers are conducting proactive patrols off the beaten track as part of a strategy to investigate and prevent break and enter and motor vehicle offences that have recently occurred in the Boondall Police Division.
Sergeant Shelley said the initative is proving popular.
“We have had a great response from the community. They have been telling us how great it is to see us on the bikes and having a chat,” Sergeant Shelley said.

Police issue free wristbands for child safety at the Ekka
Police Minister Mark Ryan and North Brisbane District Superintendent Katherine Innes are urging parents and carers to avoid losing children at the Ekka by collecting free wristbands and organising a meeting point should they become separated.
Superintendent Innes said the initiative had been a proven success for many years, ensuring that lost children at the Ekka were quickly reunited with their parents or caregivers. 44 children were successfully reunited with their parents in 2016.
“Police encourage parents to know where their children are at all times,” Superintendent Innes said.
“On arrival at the Ekka, parents should show their children where the police station is, teach them how to identify a police officer, and explain that they need to find a police officer if they become lost.
