Stealing by conversion or trick, South East Queensland.

Police are seeking public assistance to identify and locate a man who may be able to assist in relation to a number of offences in South East Queensland.
Investigation indicate since the fourth of July a man has attended nine businesses, including banks, in Maryborough, Gympie, Agnes Wates, and Browns Plains. Today, July 7 the man has attended a business in Nicklin.
The man approaches a teller or counter staff to exchange ten $100 notes to $50 notes. He then asks for a different denomination of notes or confuses the staff member in some way. Whilst the staff member is distracted he removes some of the $100 and all the $50 notes and leaves the business.
He is described as having an olive complexion, dark hair and a large build. He speaks with an accent and is sometimes accompanied by another man.

Northside NAIDOC celebrations

This week the Queensland Police have attended a number of NAIDOC celebrations across North Brisbane.
On Thursday the annual Northside NAIDOC celebration was held at Koobara Kindy.
The event was a wonderful success with the many attendees treated to a wonderful display of arts, music and dance.
The 2017 theme of NAIDOC week – Our Languages Matter – aims to emphasise and celebrate the unique and essential role that Indigenous languages play in both cultural identity, linking people to their land and water, and in the transmission of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, spirituality and rites, through story and song.

A warm welcome to new residents in North Brisbane

North Brisbane Police were lucky to attend a recent event welcoming newly arrived refugees and their families.
The event was hosted by the Zillmere Community Centre and the Multicultural Development Association as part of Refugee Week celebrations.
There were people from many different cultures at the celebration who all joined together to enjoy wonderful food, music and dancing.
There was even a competitive table tennis competition, which we are sorry to say we lost.

Boondall Station’s newest recruit

Many of you would have been following the Queensland Police campaign to name the latest G litter of police puppies.
Boondall Police were over the moon to have a visit from one of the new recruits ‘Gator’!
Like most new recruits Gator was nervous on his first visit to the station but was met with open arms and lots of cuddles.
While Gator and his foster dad have lots of work ahead we wish them well and look forward to seeing them around the station.
