UPDATE: PSPA Scarborough, revoked
At 5:03pm Police revoked the emergency situation under the Public Safety Preservation Act in Scarborough today.
Police attended an address Fortune Street, Scarborough and discovered a suspicious device.
A PSPA was declared at 3.30 pm and police have established an exclusion zone bounded by Fortune Street, 2nd Avenue, 5th Avenue and the water front.
Specialist police are on scene and the device was destroyed.
Investigations are continuing.

Update: 2.10pm 14/6 – The 16yo girl has been located safe and well
Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate a 16-year-old Margate girl.
The teen was last seen on Sunday June 11, 2017 around 5pm in Victoria Avenue, Margate.
She is known to frequent the Redcliffe, Deception Bay and Caboolture areas.
The girl is described as Caucasian, approximately 160cms tall with very short brown hair and blue eyes.
Anyone who may have seen the girl or has any information in relation to her current whereabouts is urged to contact police.
Please note: the girl no longer has short blonde hair but very short brown hair.

Police close down $30m cold call investment fraud syndicate
Police from State Crime Command have today closed an operation in relation to an alleged $30m cold call investment fraud syndicate involving approximately 2000 victims across Australia.
The two-year operation conducted by the Financial and Cyber Crimes Group focused on a syndicate operating primarily from the Gold Coast. The investigation received significant assistance from the Australian Taxation Office and the Crime and Corruption Commission.
Today officers from the group executed search warrants on residences and businesses on the Gold Coast, and one residence and business in Brisbane. Assistance was also provided by officers from the Australian Taxation Office, Office of Fair Trading and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.
Five people have been charged including four men aged in their 30’s and 40’s and a 41-year-old woman.
It is alleged the five arrested were either the principal players behind the scam or involved in the laundering of victims’ money.

Police officer stood down, Brisbane Region
A 42-year-old male Detective Sergeant from Brisbane Region has been stood down from official duty with the Queensland Police Service and will be tasked to perform non-operational duties.
The officer is alleged to have used a restricted computer without authorisation and has been served with a Notice to Appear for an offence under section 408E, Computer hacking of the Criminal Code. The officer is to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 3 July 2017.

Local school rugby says ‘Not In Our Sporting Teams’
The Queensland Police Service were invited to attend ‘Back to Shorncliffe’ day hosted by St Patrick’s College. The biggest sporting event of the year for St Pat’s featured numerous games of rugby and soccer played between St Pat’s and Padua. With the highlight of the day played at 3.15pm the Year 12’s A grade teams from St Pat’s and Padua, St Pat’s winning on this occasion.
The QPS, St Pat’s and Padua all showed their commitment and support of the domestic and family violence theme ‘Not in our Sporting Teams.’
The QPS, accompanied by the Mobile Police Community Office Van, set up a domestic violence information display on the day.
At the main event the A grade rugby team players showed their respect by wearing white armbands and also having a minute’s silence for those who have lost their lives to domestic violence.
