Road closures: Oaks Race Day, Ascot

Hendra police would like to inform motorists of road closures around the Doomben Racecourse on Saturday, June 3 for the Queensland Oaks Race Day.
The following roads in Ascot will be closed from 8am till 7pm:

Hampden Street, between Nudgee Road and Onslow Street;
Brassey, Hopetoun and Onslow Streets will be closed to through traffic from Lamington Avenue

Congestion is expected on Nudgee Road due to the high volume of horse transportation, taxis and private vehicles attending the event.
Hendra police urge road users to be patient and avoid non-essential travel in the area.

Update: Armed robbery, Kallangur

Police investigating an armed robbery that occurred in Kallangur on May 31 have released footage of the incident in an attempt to identify the offender.
Initial information suggests a man entered a business on Anzac Ave around 7.25pm and produced a knife.
He then demanded money from the female attendant. She complied and the man fled the scene with a sum of cash.
No one was physically injured as a result of the robbery.
The man is described as proportionate build, wearing a hooded black jumper, tan long pants, with his face covered and carrying a bag.
Investigations are continuing.
