The Australia Day weekend was the backdrop for hundreds of Citizenship Ceremonies being held all over this sunburnt country we call Australia.
On Sunday January 27, Police Liaison Officer Amanjot Sharma attended a citizenship ceremony at Bracken Ridge State School Hall to help welcome some of Australia’s newest citizens to the North Brisbane Police District.
Amanjot was joined by Volunteers in Policing Bijma Sharpe in representing the Queensland Police Service (QPS) at the ceremony which was hosted by Bracken Ridge Councillor Amanda Cooper.
Special guests for the ceremony included the Lord Mayor of Brisbane, Councillor Graham Quirk, Federal Member for Petrie, Luke Howarth MP, Senator Claire Moore and State Member for Sandgate and Minister for Local Government, Minister for Racing and Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Stirling Hinchliffe MP.
