Dangerous operation arrest, Carseldine

A man has been arrested after a dangerous driving incident last night that ended in Carseldine following a police pursuit.
Around 9.15pm, police were called following reports of a stolen Mazda CX5 allegedly driving erratically on the Houghton Highway at Redcliffe.
Police initially attempted to intercept the vehicle, however the driver is alleged to have evaded officers at that time.
Polair 2 kept the vehicle under surveillance until police successfully utilised a tyre deflation device at Deagon.
It will further be alleged the driver continued travelling in the vehicle with its front two tyres deflated and rims damaged.
Due to the damage the driver lost control of the vehicle before crashing into a tree on Gympie Road at Carseldine.
A short time later, a 25-year-old Redcliffe man was taken into custody and is assisting police with their inquiries.
A male Senior Constable sustained minor injuries during the incident and has since been discharged from hospital.

Serious traffic crash, Ocean View

Police are investigating a serious single vehicle traffic crash at Ocean View this afternoon.
Initial information suggests around 5.40pm on Zillman Road, a Mercedes sedan left the road and hit a tree.
The 34-year-old female driver was trapped in the vehicle as the impact caused it to travel backwards 10 metres.
She was transported by helicopter to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with life threatening injuries.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact police.

Fatal traffic crash, Brisbane

Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred in Brisbane last night.
Initial investigations suggest around 10.20pm, a motorcycle heading along Ann Street has lost control around the bend to the on ramp towards Coronation Drive.
As a result, the motorcycle collided with the side barrier causing the rider to be thrown over the barrier and into the Brisbane River.
A search was carried out by Water Police and other emergency services with the rider located near the Queen Street Ferry Terminal.
The 31-year-old rider from the Gold Coast was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No one else was injured during the incident.
The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing to anyone travelling through the city, along Ann Street towards the on ramp to the Riverside Expressway and Coronation Drive that has dashcam footage or witnessed the motorcycle prior to the crash to contact them.
Investigations are continuing.

Unlawful use of a motor vehicle, Windsor

Police arrested a man and woman after they allegedly evaded police in a stolen car in Windsor last night.
Around 11pm, officers observed a stolen Holden Commodore utility travelling north on Bowen Bridge Road at Herston.
It is then alleged the car accelerated away before crashing the vehicle into nearby parkland.
The pair were arrested and taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for treatment to minor injuries.
A 38-year-old Stafford woman has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, fail to stop motor vehicle, driving a vehicle with a suspended licence, possess property having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence and unlawful possession of a category M weapon (knuckleduster).
She was issued with a Notice to Appear in the Brisbane Magistrate Court on November 1.
A 50-year-old man is assisting police with their enquiries.
The car was allegedly stolen from a Nile Street home in Woolloongabba sometime overnight

Police officer suspended, Brisbane Region

A 42-year-old male senior constable from the Brisbane Region has been suspended from the Queensland Police Service.
The officer is the subject of an investigation in relation to off-duty conduct involving allegations of inappropriate behaviour including assault and domestic violence, offences against the Telecommunications Act and improper access to a restricted computer system whilst on duty.

Update: Assault investigation, Toowong

A man has been charged following the alleged assault of a bus driver in Toowong on August 29.
It will be alleged a bus had been travelling along Sylvan Road, Toowong around 8.35pm when the driver overtook a cyclist.
The bus continued on its way to a nearby depot in Miskin Street and after exiting the bus the driver was allegedly confronted by the male cyclist.
It will be further alleged the cyclist punched the 49-year-old male driver in the face several times before fleeing the scene.
The driver suffered a laceration to his eye and lip.
A 46-year-old Kenmore man attended Indooroopilly Police station early this morning in relation to the incident.
He has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on September 14.

Armed robbery, Chermside

Police are investigating following the armed robbery of an adult store at Chermside last night.
Around 9.20pm a man wearing a stocking over his head entered the business on Gympie Road and produced a knife, demanding cash from a male employee.
The employee complied and the man, described as being tall, left with a sum of cash.
It is believed he then fled the scene in a car driven by another person, a stolen 1989 silver Mazda 626 sedan with QLD registration 005 EJN (similar to pictured).
Anyone who may have seen the vehicle is urged to contact Policelink or Crime Stoppers.
No one was physically injured as a result of the incident.
Investigations are continuing.

Detectives from Indooroopilly Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating after a bus driver was assaulted at Toowong last night (August 30).
Preliminary information suggests a bus had been travelling along Sylvan Road, Toowong around 8.35pm when the driver overtook a cyclist.
The bus continued on its way to a nearby bus depot in Miskin Street and after exiting the bus the driver was confronted by the male cyclist.
Following a brief conversation, the 49-year-old male driver was punched in the face several times causing a laceration to his eye and lip.
The cyclist fled the scene.

Police charge man for multiple sports club burglaries, Gold Coast and Brisbane

The Drug and Serious Crime Group, in partnership with the South Eastern Police Region, has been investigating a series of linked break and enter offences in South East Queensland where money has been stolen from poker machines.
Detectives from Operation Aristocrat have been liaising with New South Wales detectives who are investigating similar offences believed to have been committed by the same offender.
Police believe the offender has been active in Queensland and New South Wales for several years targeting poker machines in sports clubs and other commercial businesses.
A search warrant was executed today (Tuesday, August 29) at an Elanora address where a 53-year-old was arrested.
Detectives will prefer charges in relation to 28 break and enter offences committed from North Brisbane to the Gold Coast between 2009 and 2017.
The investigation is ongoing by the Queensland Police Service and New South Wales Police Force to identify further break and enter offences committed.

Arson charges, Geebung

Police have charged three boys with arson after a suspicious fire at Geebung yesterday evening.
Just after 7pm police were conducting patrols when they noticed a fire at a metal recycling business on Newman Road.
Emergency services attended and contained the fire however around 14 vehicles had already been damaged by the blaze.
Following enquiries into the fire detectives later charged three boys in relation to the incident.
A 13-year-old Zillmere boy and a 12-year-old Zillmere boy have both been charged with arson, enter premises and commit an indictable offence, endangering a property by fire and trespass.
