Worldly women meet and greet at Zillmere

Worldly Women Meet and Greet is an anticipated afternoon event for woman from many cultures who come together to enjoy companies and share food.
Police Liaison Officer (PLO’s) Davis said PLO’s and Crime Prevention Officers find that supporting Worldly Women aids in establishing and maintaining community connections.
“Each event has a very welcoming feel and it is so inspiring to see women wanting to come together to build trust and understanding within their community,” PLO Davis said.
For the past six years, Zillmere Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC) has generously provided the space to host these events.
Police from Gateway Patrol Group look forward to continuing their strong relationship with the numerous community groups involved in putting together this quarterly event each year.
The event is a nice opportunity for women to showcase cultural talents through song and dance and bring along delicious dishes to share.

Police urge residents to secure their cars and yards

Police from the Gateway Patrol Group are reminding residents to secure their cars and yards as thieves have targeted a number of cars and entered a number of yards in the Brisbane North, most recently in the suburbs of Gordon Park and Everton Park.
To determine how secure your home is, think like a burglar and consider the following:

From the outside of your home, consider how difficult it would be to break in;
Are your gates secured to prevent access by intruders?
Are there any tools lying around your yard that could assist in prying open a window – are there any ladders laying beside the shed or are trees and shrubs concealing windows providing cover for a burglar while they break in?;
Do not leave keys hanging visibly on key hooks and store your keys out of sight and in a safe place;
Ensure all doors and windows are locked prior to leaving your

Armed robbery, Nundah

Investigations are underway after a man used a firearm to rob a service station at Nundah last night with the community being asked to assist with inquiries.
Around 9.45pm the man entered a Sandgate Road business wearing a balaclava before making demands for money and cigarettes while armed with a handgun.
The 26-year-old male store employee handed over an amount of cash from the till and cigarettes.
The armed man then fled the premises.
He was last seen running towards Hamilton Road.
No one was physically injured in the incident.
The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, 170 cm tall with a slim build.
He was wearing a navy-blue jacket, black balaclava, black shorts and white shoes.

Armed robbery charges, North Brisbane

A man has been charged with the alleged armed robberies of three bottle shops across Brisbane’s north over the weekend.
Around 9.20pm on Friday, the man walked into a liquor store on Everest Street at Warner where it will be alleged he used a broken bottle to threaten the employee before fleeing with a sum of money and alcohol.
Then it will be alleged the man used a syringe to threaten a staff member at a Burpengary bottle shop around 6pm last night. Money was also stolen during the incident.
Less than an hour later the man entered a licensed premises on River Street at Petrie where it will be alleged he threatened an employee with a syringe and fled with a sum of cash.
No one was hurt during the incidents.
Officers attended a Petrie residence today where a 20-year-old man was arrested in relation to the three alleged armed robberies.

Stafford Police bake to fight animal cruelty

Stafford Police have the right recipe for a paw-fect day – its’s Cupcake Day for the RSPCA!

Have you lost your Grate?

On Friday August 2, officers from the Centenary Property Team executed a search warrant at an address in  Darra in relation to alleged stolen property, namely drainage grates, which had been stolen from businesses across Brisbane.
During the search warrant, a total of 134 metal drainage grates and 14 square storm water grates were located.
Investigations are ongoing and police are encouraging anyone with information in relation to the owners of the alleged stolen property to make contact.

Located money, Cashmere

Police are trying to identify the rightful owner of a significant sum of money which was found on Eaton’s Crossing Road earlier today.
At around 9.50am a member of the public stopped and observed a number of other persons picking up what appeared to be cash off the road and contacted police.
Anyone with information or was in the area with dashcam footage which could assist police in identifying the owner is urged to contact police.
Please Note: police will not be disclosing further information about the items, including the dollar value of the money located for operational reasons (for example, the owner would need to be able to provide the dollar figure).

Traffic crash, Bald Hills

Police are investigating a traffic crash at Strathpine Road and Gympie Arterial overpass where a motorcycle has collided with a utility around 1.10am today.
A man has been taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital in a serious condition.
The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating the accident.

Appeal for assistance regarding stolen jewellery

Carseldine detectives are seeking assistance from the public to help locate the unique jewellery depicted above which was stolen during a burglary last month.
On July 28, offenders broke into a home on Highbridge Circuit, Carseldine while the occupants were away and stole the items.
Many of the items stolen were family heirlooms.
