Police have charged four boys and a girl with unlawful use of a motor vehicle after an alleged stolen vehicle collided with a number of vehicles in Petrie this afternoon.
It will be alleged a Grand Cherokee Jeep was sighted by an off-duty police officer on Linkfield Road at Brendale around 2pm today. The vehicle had been stolen from a Wooloowin address sometime on Sunday and had a smashed windscreen.
Police were called, and an unmarked police vehicle followed the car for a short time before it turned north on Gympie Road at Carseldine. As the vehicle neared the Petrie Roundabout it stopped in a line of traffic and officers approached the vehicle.
The driver has then tried to drive between the two lanes of stopped traffic, hitting approximately 15 vehicles before coming to a stop. Five youths were arrested in the car.
