Police have charged a man after a car was stolen in an alleged armed robbery at Chermside West on March 6.
It will be alleged around 4.30pm on March 6, a man approached a woman who was standing beside her parked car containing two children, produced bladed weapons and demanded the keys.
The man allegedly fled in the woman’s white hatchback.
Overnight officers sighted the same vehicle in Slacks Creek, Logan, Browns Plains and Calamvale.
Early this morning a member of the public alerted police the vehicle was travelling through Kedron.
At around 2am, a tyre deflation device was successfully deployed on the Gateway Motorway southbound, near the old Cleveland Road exit at Carina, however the vehicle continued along the Gateway.
The vehicle took the Logan Road exit and then turned right onto Logan Road before coming to a stop at the corner of Gaskell Street at Eight Mile Plains.

A 24-year-old man, the subject of a police search after a woman and two young children were threatened at Chermside West has been taken into custody.
At around 4.30pm on March 6, the man approached a woman who was standing beside her parked car containing two children, produced bladed weapons and demanded the keys.
The man fled in the woman’s white hatchback which has since been the subject of a police search.
Overnight officers sighted the vehicle in Slacks Creek, Logan, Browns Plains and Calamvale however it sped away.
Early this morning a member of the public recognised the man in Kedron and alerted police the vehicle was travelling south.
At around 2am, a tyre deflation device was successfully deployed on the Gateway Motorway southbound, approximately 500m before the old Cleveland Road exit at Carina however the vehicle continued along the Gateway.

Update 1: Break and enter, Wavell Heights
North Brisbane Detectives have charged a man following investigations into an alleged break and enter in Wavell Heights on March 8.
Shortly before 6.30pm, three men in a black sedan arrived on Warril Street, got out of the car and approached a house.
Police will allege the men forced entry to the home and confronted two occupants, a woman in her 70s and a man in his 80s, before smashing property and fleeing in the car.
The couple in the house were not physically injured during the incident.
As a result of a public appeal officers took a man into custody at the intersection of Lemke Road and Telegraph Road in Taigum, just before 8pm last night.
A 20-year-old Deagon man has been charged with enter dwelling with intent, wilful damage, possessing dangerous drugs and possessing a knife in a public place.
He is due to appear in Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on March 11.

Break and enter, Wavell Heights
Detectives are appealing for information after a house was broken into in Wavell Heights on Friday night.
Shortly before 6.30pm on March 8, three men arrived on Warril Street in a black sedan and got out of the car and approached a house.
The three men then smashed the front door and confronted the two occupants, a woman in her 70s and a man in his 80s, before they smashed property and fled the area in the car.
Investigations have revealed that the three men mistakenly entered the house and are seeking assistance for the public to identify them and the vehicle.
The couple in the house were not injured as a result of the incident.
Anyone with any information should contact police.
Investigations are continuing.

Balance for Better in North Brisbane

On Wednesday March 6, North Brisbane Police Liaison Officers Aman Sharma and Moira Davis hosted an information evening for local women to celebrate the 2019 International Women’s Day theme of Balance for Better.
The event was hosted at Dosa Hut, Aspley where a meal was shared and many laughs had.
It was a wonderful opportunity to bring together varied women from across North Brisbane to share information, experiences and forge new friendships.
There were guest speakers who discussed the theme of how to achieve Balance for Better, as well as health and fitness and personal safety strategies.
Acting Sergeant Megan Dwyer from the Cross Cultural Office discussed many personal safety techniques including the importance of displaying confidence and how to fake it til you make it!
Personal Trainer Lynda Tweedie gave a very informative talk on fitness and was generous in sharing her personal struggles in

On Thursday March 7, approximately 75 ladies from diverse communities joined together to celebrate 2019 International Women’s Day at The Exchange, Kelvin Grove.
This is the fifth year that The Exchange has hosted an International Women’s Day morning tea.
It was a social event with morning tea, Zumba and a safety presentation by Brooke Patman from Surf Life Saving Queensland.
This event comes together through the many helpful volunteers and the combined efforts of The Exchange, Queensland Police Service Police Liaison Officers and Communify.
The Exchange provides a supportive range of programs and activities to the community where there are opportunities to connect, learn and participate.

Update 2: Suspicious death investigation, Wishart
Detectives have charged a man following the investigation into the death of a man on Saturday night.
Investigations indicate around 10.30pm a 42-year-old Upper Mount Gravatt man was driven to the QEII Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased from significant injuries.
A crime scene was later declared at an address in Lani Street, Wishart where a number of items of interest were seized including two vehicles.
Today a man was located by police at Spring Hill.
A 29-year-old Loganlea man has been charged with one count of murder and will appear at the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Suspicious Fire, Brendale
Detectives are investigating a suspicious fire which occurred in Brendale overnight.
Emergency services attended the South Pine Road business around midnight and found the premises well alight.
Preliminary investigations indicate the blaze may have been deliberately lit.
The fire was extinguished quickly, however caused extensive damage to the business with some neighbouring properties sustaining smoke and water damage.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have been in the vicinity at the time of the fire or have further information to come forward.
Anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage is also encouraged to contact police.
