Police are investigating a violent assault incident that occurred in Murrumba Downs yesterday evening.
Initial investigations indicate at about 7.30pm, five men caught a taxi from a Brendale address to Murrumba Downs.
Two of the men exited the taxi in Dohles Rocks Road.
The taxi travelled a short distance further along Dohles Rocks Road before parking.
It will be alleged that the three remaining men violently assaulted the driver before police arrived a the scene taking two men into custody and locating third third nearby.
The driver was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for treatment of injuries to his head and face.
Three men are assisting police with their inquires.
Investigations are continuing.

Fatal traffic incident, Mango Hill
A 52-year-old woman has died in hospital following a traffic incident where she was struck by a vehicle at Mango Hill on Thursday.
Preliminary inquiries indicate the vehicle was travelling on Tattler Street when it swerved to avoid a male pedestrian on the roadway before striking the female pedestrian just after 6pm.
The woman was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition. She was pronounced deceased in hospital yesterday afternoon.
The 39-year-old female driver of the vehicle was not injured.
The Forensic Crash Unit is continuing its investigation into the incident.

Update: Assault, Murrumba Downs
Petrie detectives have charged three men following the alleged violent assault of a taxi driver on Brisbane’s northside last night.
The driver was hailed by a group of five men on South Pine Road at Brendale around 7.25pm. He then drove them to Dohles Rocks Road, Murrumba Downs.
Two of the men exited the vehicle in Dohles Rocks Road with the other three remaining in the vehicle before it stopped further down the road.
The taxi stopped in the car park of a fast food restaurant where police will allege the driver was forcibly removed from the vehicle and punched and kicked, including to his head and face whilst he was on the ground.

Closure of drug operation targeting sophisticated cannabis production and trafficking network – Brisbane
Police have charged four people with drug trafficking following the closure of an operation targeting a syndicate involved in the the alleged production and distribution of $6.5 million of cannabis in Queeensland.
Operation Quebec Walkover was a six-month operation involving investigators from the Drug and Serious Crime Group, State Crime Command.
Detectives charged four people, two women and two man, who police allege were involved in the organised production and trafficking of over 1.1 tonnes of cannabis, with an estimated street value of $6.5 million between Melbourne and Brisbane from 2016 to 2018.
A 58-year-old Melbourne woman, arrested last night at Brisbane Airport, has been charged with one count each of trafficking a commercial quantity of a controlled drug, cultivating controlled plants, cultivating marketable quantity of controlled plants, two counts of possessing controlled drugs and three counts of possessing plant material for the cultivation of controlled plants or equipment.

School Watch North Brisbane – Look, Listen and Report
Now school holidays are being enjoyed across Queensland, we are seeking the assistance of the wider community to keep an eye on our schools.
While the students and teachers enjoy a break away, unfortunately schools can become a target for offences such as graffiti, arson, trespass and break and enters.
Unfortunately we have already experienced a couple of these at our local schools.
While police and security guards will be patrolling, we require the help from everyone by taking part in School Watch.
The School Watch Program is a partnership between Education Queensland, the Queensland Police Service and the State Government Protective Security Service.
School Watch aims to reduce criminal activity in Queensland schools and encourages everyone to look out for after-hours crime in our schools.

Update 1: Escaped prisoner located
Police have charged a 26-year-old woman with escaping lawful custody after she allegedly fled from the Helana Jones Community Correctional Centre in Albion on December 15.
The woman voluntarily attended Bundaberg Police Station yesterday where she was arrested and charged with one count of escape by person in lawful custody. She is due to appear in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court today.
Chloe Peterson (pictured), 27, who unlawfully left the facility at the same time remains outstanding.
She is described as having an olive complexion, is about 160cm tall, is of a large build with dark brown hair, brown eyes and has tattoos on both arms and her right leg.
Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts is urged not to approach them but to call police immediately.

Community joins together to spread Christmas cheer in Aspley
The Aspley Outback Steakhouse today held a ‘Family Christmas’ event where families in need were treated to a relaxing lunch, entertainment and a visit from Santa Claus himself.
The event has been running for several years and is supported by local the QPS, along with other emergency services, who all enjoy having a chance to interact with the many children who attend.
Inspector Ian Park entertained the children with a skill not taught at the Police Academy – making balloon animals!
Santa presented gifts which were generously donated by local businesses and many staff from the steakhouse volunteered their time to work at the event.
Road safety, North Brisbane
Police from North Brisbane District were at Kallangur yesterday as part of the Queensland Police Service Christmas road safety campaign.
Officers from the North Brisbane District engaged with drivers on Dohles Rocks Road, as part of Operation Yield targeting the Fatal Five – speeding, drink and drug driving, distraction, fatigue and seat belts.
During yesterday’s operation, police stopped over 600 cars. Police issued two traffic infringement notices and conducted 503 random breath tests.
Two people were arrested for driving whilst disqualified and drug driving and a further one was changed following an investigation into stealing offences.
The safety of motorist in the North Brisbane District and across Queensland, is paramount and todays results show the safety message is getting across to the community.
A number of traffic operations are planned across the North Brisbane District and police want everyone to be safe of the Christmas and New Year period.

Armed robbery, Runcorn
Detectives are investigating an armed robbery in Runcorn overnight.
Around 12.30am a man was confronted by a group of men outside a Plum Street address who demanded the keys to his blue BMW 320D convertible.
The man was threatened with a knife and firearm before his vehicle was stolen.
He did not require medical treatment.
The men are described as African and being aged in their mid 20s.
The stolen vehicle is described as a blue BMW 320D hard top convertible with Queensland registration 248-XYX.
Investigations are continuing.

Armed robbery, Yeronga
Detectives are investigating following an armed robbery and an attempted armed robbery in Yeronga overnight.
Around 10.13pm a man was at a service station in Fairfield Road when he was confronted by a group of men who demanded his car keys.
A physical altercation then occurred when one of the group produced a knife and used it to cut the man on the neck.
Members of the public stepped in and the group fled on foot.
The victim sustained a superficial laceration to the neck.
A short time later a man was reversing a red Toyota Yaris out of a driveway in Paragon Street when a group of men surrounded the vehicle.
The group then forced the man out of the driver’s seat before punching him in the head and stealing the vehicle.
The stolen vehicle is described as a red 2006 Toyota Yaris with Queensland registration 180-WVP.
The men are described as African and being aged in
