Vehicle and weapon offences, Petrie

Police have arrested and charged a man and a woman following an alleged chase in the Bray Park and Petrie areas yesterday evening.
A about 10pm, an alleged stolen black Audi was tracked by police helicopter throughout the north Brisbane area.
Police successfully deployed two tyre deflation devices along Samsonvale Road at Bray Park.
The vehicle continued onto Gympie Road, Petrie where it came to a stop near Wylie Park.
It is alleged a male occupant of the vehicle fled the scene on foot and entered North Pine River where he swam approximately one kilometre downstream before surrendering himself to police.
Police arrested a woman and allegedly located a firearm at the location of the Audi.
A 32-year-old Nanango man is charged with three counts of stealing and one count each of burglary, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of a weapon and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Assault appeal, Wynnum

Police are investigating the assault of a tavern employee in Wynnum last month and are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or can identify the men in the CCTV footage.
Just before 7pm on Saturday, October 13 a staff member was assaulted by three men when he attempted to confiscate alcohol they had brought into a licenced venue on Wynnum Road.
During the incident, the employee was grabbed by the neck, pushed and slammed into a glass wall.
The employee sustained facial injuries.
All three men are described as Caucasian in appearance and in their mid-twenties.
The first man is approximately 165cm tall and was last seen wearing a dark coloured flannelette shirt and a baseball cap backwards. He has a beard and tattoos.
The second man is about 180cm tall and was last seen wearing a light-coloured jumper and dark shorts with light brown or dirty blonde hair.

Burglary investigation, Ferny Grove

Police are investigating a burglary incident that occurred at Ferny Grove early this morning.
At about 1.50am, two men wearing balaclavas forcibly entered a house on McGinn Road and threatened the occupants with a knife.
The men conducted a search of the house and fled the scene a short time later in a small white sedan with a quantity of property.
No one was injured during the incident.
Police are appealing to any members of the public who may have information in relation to this matter to contact police.

Located Kayak, Shafston Reach, Brisbane River

Water police are appealing for public assistance to speak with the owner of a kayak which was located today at South Brisbane.
A person was seen paddling on the kayak at 1.45pm on the Brisbane River between Mowbray Park and the Story Bridge.
A short time later the kayak was seen drifting unattended and water police subsequently located the kayak wedged beneath a pontoon near Mowbray Park.
A double ended aluminium paddle with blue blades was located on the pontoon (pictured).
Any person who may have seen the kayak or has further information is urged to contact police.

Robbery, North Lakes

Police are investigating after a man robbed a North Lakes business early this morning.
Staff where closing the College Street take away business at 1.35am when a man has entered the store and threatened staff with a hammer.
The staff complied, and the man fled with a sum of cash.
The man is described as between 20 and 30-years-old, 175cm tall, Caucasian and slim build.
Investigations are continuing.

Vision: Armed robbery, Kedron

Police are investigating following the armed robbery of a convenience store in Kedron overnight.
At around 11:00pm a man entered the store on Gympie Road, armed with a knife.
The man threatened two staff members before stealing a sum of cash from the register and fleeing on foot on Nundah Street.
No one was physically injured during the robbery.
The man (pictured) was last seen wearing a black jumper with white writing and a dark coloured head covering.
Anyone with dashcam vision from the area overnight or any other information is urged to contact police.

Man charged with historical sex offences against children – North Brisbane.

As part of Operation Quebec Reef, detectives from North Brisbane CIB South and the Child Abuse and Sexual Crime Group executed a search warrant today at a Sandgate address.
Detectives subsequently charged a 55-year-old Sandgate man with historical offences relating to four child victims, with the incidents allegedly occurring in the North Brisbane area between 1991 to 2005.
Police believe the man previously worked in the Clayfield, Virginia and Nudgee areas as a coach.
The 55-year-old man has been charged with one count of rape, twelve counts of indecent dealing with a child under the age of 16, three counts of procuring child to commit an indecent act and one count of common assault.
The man is to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court this afternoon.

Update – Suspicious behaviour appeal, Murrumba Downs

Police are making a public appeal for any information as investigations continue after a man approached a 12-year-old girl in Murrumba Downs last Monday.
As part of their appeal police will be at Duffield Road Kallangur from 7.30am to 8.30am where they will be seeking any information from the public.
Officers will be speaking to motorists and asking for anyone who may have dash cameras that were operating around the time of the incident.
Around 7.40am on Monday, October 15 the girl was walking along Duffield Road when the girl was approached by a man in a vehicle.
The man threatened the girl before fleeing the scene when the girl ran. He was last seen driving south along Duffield Street.
The girl was not physically injured during the incident.
The vehicle is described as a small blue car.
The man is described as Caucasian in appearance and aged in his late 40s or early 50s.

Armed robbery and pursuit, North Brisbane

A man is assisting police with their inquiries following the armed robbery of Waterworks Road service station at The Gap.
Initial information indicates around 1.20am a metal pole was allegedly used to threaten an employee before the alleged offender made off with a sum of money, fleeing in an allegedly stolen white Ford Focus hatchback.
An attempt was made to intercept the vehicle however it was discontinued due to concerns for the safety of the public.
Police deployed a tyre deflation device (TDD) at Windsor however the driver drove around the TDD.
Shortly after, officers deployed another TDD on Gympie Road, Chermside which was successful.
The man continued to drive on deflated tyres before abandoning the car in a yard on Gympie Road, Aspley.
He then allegedly assaulted and threatened several residents with two people treated for minor injuries.
The Police Dog Squad tracked the man before locating him hiding under a house where he allegedly assaulted

Serious assault investigation, Bulimba

A man suffered serious head injuries following an alleged assault outside a licensed premises in Bulimba overnight.
Shortly after midnight, police attended a disturbance after an altercation between two groups occurred outside a hotel in Oxford Street.
Initial inquiries indicate as a result of the altercation three security guards attended to separate the two groups.
A 21-year-old man was attempting to re-enter the hotel when he was allegedly punched in the head causing him to fall to the ground and lose consciousness.
The man was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
A 26-year-old man is assisting detectives with their inquiries.
Investigations are continuing.
