Armed robbery, Spring Hill

Police are investigating after an 80-yer-old woman was threatened with a knife and had her car stolen at Spring Hill last night.
At around 7.10pm the woman drove into the upper level carpark of a business on Wickham Terrace.
As she exited her vehicle she was approached by a man who produced a knife and demanded her car keys.
The woman complied, handing over the keys and a sum of cash.
The man fled the scene in the vehicle, a brown 2012 Mercedes Benz C250 sedan with Queensland registration 652STR (similar to pictured).
The victim was not injured during the incident.
The man is described as young, Caucasian in appearance, around 173cm tall with brown hair and was wearing dark coloured clothing.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the car or have further information to come forward.

Dangerous drugs and weapons seized during Operation Kinetic closure, Brisbane

Detectives have made significant arrests as part of a four-month operation targeting the distribution of methylamphetamine (ICE) and other drugs by a syndicate across Brisbane.
Between May 23 and September 1, police from the Brisbane City Criminal Investigation Branch conducted Operation Kinetic, culminating in a total arrest of 28 persons on 164 charges, including three offences of trafficking.
Approximately 1kg of ICE was allegedly seized along with a large quantity of dangerous drugs located during the operation.
Cash and property was also seized totalling around $270,220, including a stolen Mercedes and Audi.
Notably, eight firearms including shotguns, numerous handguns and a conducted electrical weapon, as well as a sword and knife were seized.
Two 33-year-old men from East Brisbane and a 30-year-old man from Fitzgibbon will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court later this month charged with multiple offences.

Boondall Police strengthening local relationships

Boondall Police have positive relationships with many varied groups within their community.
Recently, sworn Police Officers, and Police Liaison Officers, attended the Singh Saba Gurudwara at Taigum to meet with members of the Sikh community.
The officers discussed many issues including personal safety and the prevention of Domestic and Family Violence, and answered many questions from the community.
This event is being followed up with a Family fun Day where the Indian community will be invited to come and meet their local Police.

Burglary and stolen vehicle, Eight Mile Plains

Detectives are seeking assistance to help locate a vehicle stolen during the burglary of an address in Eight Mile Plains this afternoon.
Around 5.30pm, two men were disturbed by the occupant of the Narrun Place residence who returned to find their 2012 silver Mercedes C180 Coupe in the driveway.
As the occupant approached the residence a white Mazda 3 parked in the street accelerated away at speed.
A short time later the two men used car keys to reverse the Mercedes which was then stolen along with a large quantity of jewellery.
Anyone with information on the stolen Mercedes C180 Coupe with Queensland registration VIC203 is asked to contact police.
No one was injured during the incident and investigations are continuing.

Crime scene, Kangaroo Point

Police have declared a crime scene at Kangaroo Point cliffs after a member of the public located what are believed to human remains around 10am today.
An investigation has been commenced to establish the identity of those remains.
There is no further information at this stage.

Armed robbery, Chermside

Police are seeking witnesses following the armed robbery of a man in Chermside this evening.
At around 6.30pm a 51-year-old man exited a bus and was walking along Farnell Street when he was approached by another man who produced a knife and demanded his phone and wallet.
The victim complied, and the man left along Farnell Street before turning onto Hamilton Road.
The man is described as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander in appearance, aged in his late teens to early twenties with a medium build.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have been driving in the vicinity at the time of the incident near the intersection of Hamilton and Webster Road and may have dashcam vision to come forward.
Investigations are continuing.

Police attend ADF open day, Chermside

The Queensland Police Service was recently invited to attend the annual 7th Combat Brigade Australian Defence Force Open Day hosted on Saturday September 1.
The open day was held at the 7th Brigade Park and Kidspace Parklands in Chermside and officers from Brisbane North were in attendance.
The event was a fun and interactive day mainly featuring the different areas the army has to offer potential people wishing to join.
Police recruiting, along with Crime Stoppers and the Crime Prevention Unit attended the event alongside officers from the Vulnerable Persons and Domestic Violence Unit.
Officers had a great time speaking with those who were in attendance and chatting about potential careers with the Queensland Police Service, as well as sharing Crime Prevention tips and advice.

Stafford Officer weighs in and the gloves are on!

Stafford Police Officer, Constable Rebecca Hawker (Beck) will be heading to Europe representing Australia in Boxing.
Beck will be part of a 15 strong boxing team who are departing from Australia to compete in Germany.
Beck will have three fights whilst overseas in the 57kg female elite division.
The rest of her time will be dedicated to training three times a day with other international teams.
This international experience will be used to get her ready for the the 2018 Queensland Boxing Championships and the 2018 Australian Championships which will be held later in the year.
We want to wish Beck the best of luck as she travels overseas next week!

Fatal traffic crash, Murrumba Downs

A 24-year-old man has died following a single vehicle traffic crash at Murrumba Downs this afternoon.
Preliminary inquiries indicate the car was travelling south on Castle Hill Drive when it passed through the Kingshand Street roundabout and crashed into a tree around 2pm.
The 24-year-old male driver from Murrumba Downs was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A 17-year-old male passenger sustained serious injuries and was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
Two other male passengers aged 17 and 18 and an 18-year-old female passenger were transported to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
