Community Camera Alliance launches in North Brisbane

The North Brisbane Gateway Patrol Group have today launched the Community Camera Alliance. The Community Camera Alliance is a voluntary closed circuit television (CCTV) registration program.
This initiative aims to promote the positive relationship between the community and police by encouraging the registration of CCTV systems located in residential and business environments across the North Brisbane Gateway Patrol Group in order to prevent crime and make the community safer.
It will also enhance investigative capacity and increase community engagement through the establishment of a voluntary CCTV registration system on the QPS database, QPRIME.
CCTV has become a crucial investigative tool in modern day policing. CCTV vision is regularly used to investigate and solve serious crime and is invaluable when used as evidence.
The use of CCTV can potentially reduce investigation time resulting in swifter outcomes.
Registration is open to any individual, owner or operator of a CCTV system across the North Brisbane Gateway Patrol Group.

North Brisbane Police enlist puppy power to help end Domestic Violence

Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month is an annual event held each May to raise community awareness of the social and personal impacts of domestic and family violence and the support available to those affected.

Police  have enlisted pawsome brother and sister duo Evans and Wendy the springador police puppy recruits to help promote a clear message of no tolerance of domestic and family violence in Queensland communities and educate the community on the different relationships that exist.

a family relationship—two relatives (by marriage or blood), including a child over 18, parent, stepchild, stepparent, brother, sister, (just like Evans and Wendy) grandparent, aunt, uncle, nephew or niece, as for some community
