Each May, Queensland marks Domestic and Family Violence Prevention month (DVFP Month) to raise community awareness of domestic and family violence and to send a clear message that violence of this sort will not be tolerated.
The Queensland Police Service is committed to working in partnership with the people of Queensland to provide professional policing services that will, over time, prevent and reduce the incidents of domestic violence in Queensland.
On Friday May 10, Police and Police Liaison Officers from the Gateway Patrol Group celebrated a Mother’s Day themed morning tea with some beautiful ladies who have had experience, or are working with families who are experiencing Domestic and Family Violence.
As part of the morning, the attending ladies were given some items of clothing from Uniforms 4 Kids (U4K) by one of the U4K volunteer sewers, Maria.
One of the main aims of the U4Ks program is to supply repurposed emergency service uniforms
