It was a very chilly and windy morning on Tuesday June 4, however QPS officers joined with the Muslim community at Lutwyche Mosque, Masjid As-Sunnah, to celebrate the end of Ramadan with the Eid prayer and festivities.
There were many eyes watching the moon movements the night before, as it is only when the new moon is sighted that the Ramadan month of fasting comes to an end.
Muslims celebrate Eid al-Fitr by donning new clothing, having feasts with loved ones and making charitable donations for those less well off, known as Zakat al-Fitr.
QPS officers from Gateway Patrol Groups, and Police Liaison Officers from North Brisbane District joined with the community, and are proud to be continually working on building strong relationships with the Muslim community.
