Community Policing Board use coasters to help stop DV, Brisbane North

The North Brisbane District Community Policing Board’s (the Board) purpose is to give local communities a say on strategies to reduce crime.
In North Brisbane, the Board has formed several sub committees to improve environmental safety and security by connecting local provider services with the community.
The Domestic Violence and Vulnerable Persons sub committee is raising community awareness and driving an effective Domestic Violence Awareness Strategy which involves working with major sporting partners such as the NRL, AFL, A-League, Rugby Union and Cricket about messaging at major sporting venues.
The Committee has also developed a coaster in partnership with Lives Lived Well to raise community awareness with 2,000 coasters to be distributed at the Queens Port Tavern at Hemmant and the Groves Sports Club at Stafford.
Lives Lived Well provides support for people in Queensland communities who are being impacted by alcohol or drugs or problems with mental health.
