Officers from the Boondall Road Policing Unit have expressed their disappointment after detecting an alleged drink driver speeding through a school zone in Zillmere on Fatality Free Friday.
At around 8.10am the 22-year-old Bracken Ridge man was allegedly detected travelling 91 kilometres per hour in a 40 zone during school drop off on Murphy Road.
The man then allegedly returned a positive Roadside Breath Test, so was then transported to Boondall Police Station for a secondary test.
The man returned a Blood Alcohol Specimen (BAS) as 0.154% – more than three times the legal limit.
He was issued with a Notice To Appear for drink driving and high range speeding and is due to face Sandgate Magistrates Court on June 17.
