Police have located a bag of methamphetamine and detected 20 alleged drug and drink drivers during a major traffic operation on the Bruce Highway at Murrumba Downs over the past two nights.
Around 30 police officers from the Road Policing Command, tactical crime and dog squad as well as general duty officers were involved in Operation Papa York.
Fourteen drivers returned positive results as part of roadside drug tests while police detected six alleged drink drivers.
A 51-year-old man was issued with a notice to appear in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on December 18 in relation to one count each of possessing a dangerous drug (methamphetamine) and possessing an item used in the commission of a drug offence (glass pipe).
As part of the operation, police utilised number plate recognition technology which assisted in the detection of 19 unlicensed or disqualified drivers, 16 unregistered vehicles and 11 uninsured vehicles.
