DV conference addresses young people experiencing domestic and family violence

On Friday, May 11 Platform 1225 (Qld youth Housing Commission) hosted their inaugural Domestic and Family Violence forum about Abuse of Power – Confronting Dynamics of Harm.
Held at Royal on the Park, the keynote speaker was internationally recognised Scott Miller from Duluth, USA (coordinator Duluth’s coordinated Community response to domestic violence).
This event was attended by government and non government agencies and focused on hearing the voice of young people who have experienced domestic violence whilst in their childhood and becoming homeless as a direct result of these circumstances.
The conference was about exploring viable options to support these young people and stop them becoming another causality of having no/little future options.
