Between August 17, and August 25, the Gateway Crime Prevention office will be involved with celebrating Queensland Seniors Week.
Queensland Seniors Week provides opportunities to promote positive community attitudes towards older people and ageing, facilitate community participation, and enhance community connections, aligning with the Queensland Government’s and Council on the Ageing (COTA) Queensland’s vision of building Age-friendly communities in Queensland.
Officers from the Gateway Crime Prevention Unit, hope to engage and talk with many of our senior community at the following planned events:
Wednesday August 21
From 10am – 12.30pm, we will be presenting a session on ‘seniors and scams’ at the Geebung RSL.
Thursday August 22
From 9am – 1pm, we will be at the healthy ageing expo at the Brighton Wellness Hub.
Friday August 23
From 1pm – 3pm, we will be at the seniors safety forum at the Sandgate Senior Citizens Club.
The Queensland Police Service (QPS) recognises the valuable role that older Queenslanders play in
