Gateway Police celebrate Sikhism at Bracken Ridge

Police with the local community.
Recently, police from the Gateway Patrol Group including the Boondall Officer in Charge, Acting Senior Sergeant Nathan Booth, and Inspector Gregory Millmore, were invited to the Goodwara in Bracken Ridge to learn about Indian culture and the Sikh religion.
Police were given a tour of the premises, listening and learning about different cultures and religions. We then finished the day with a delicious meal prepared by the volunteers.
This Wednesday, November 28, is the 499th anniversary of the birth of the first Sikh Guru, Nanak Gurpurab, a day where the devotees of Sikhism come together to celebrate his teachings.
Whilst we were there, police were given a warm welcome which showed the communities appreciation of our efforts and outlook towards unity. We all enjoyed the opportunity to experience their culture and appreciated the cultural knowledge provided by a Sikh Elder.
Bridging the gap between police and the community will emerge

Spread the love
