Police have charged a 40-year-old man following an altercation at an Aspley caravan park which left a 45-year-old seriously injured overnight.
It will be alleged about 8.20pm two men were involved in a physical altercation at the Gympie Road address when one man assaulted the other with a samurai sword.
The 45-year-old man had four fingers and part of his thumb severed during the altercation and was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital to undergo emergency surgery.
Officers attended the scene and arrested the 40-year-old man who was charged with one count of grievous bodily harm.
He will appear in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court today.
