Large Gator now reporting for duty

There was a lot of pride on display at the recent graduation ceremony at the Oxley academy and for Senior Constable Timothy Leybourne there was also a special graduate.
PD Gator’s graduation heralds the beginning of Senior Constable Leybourne’s own career in the Moreton Dog Squad.

The graduation was bittersweet for Senior Constable Leybourne’s former colleagues at Boondall Police Station. Whilst they are proud of Senior Constable Leybourne for achieving his aim of becoming a dog handler they will miss a colleague and friend that has served in General Duties for five years.
PD Gator, you may recall, was one of seven ‘G litter’ puppies from the public naming competition in 2017. Over 60,000 entries were received to name the puppies with Gator’s siblings eventually named Gilly, Gidget, Georgie, Gabby, Gemma and Gypsy.
