Police say g’day to students at local Taigum school

On Friday, July 17, Police from North Brisbane attended the first assembly for term three at Taigum State School.
Sergeant Jodie Murray and the Police Liaison Officers from North Brisbane are regular visitors at Taigum State School where they are working with the school community to break down barriers and create strong relationships between the police, teacher, parents and carers, and most importantly the wonderful students of Taigum.
Taigum State School has about 420 primary and prep students.
It was great to say hello to the students including school captains, Multicultural Captain, and the Indigenous captain
These students come from a wide range of backgrounds; forty per cent come from non- English speaking households and about ten per cent identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander heritage.
In the past few years, the school has had significant enrolments of students from the Middle East, as well as an influx of students from South-East Asia.
