Police have charged a man over a series of stealing and robbery offences that occurred across the Gold Coast and North Brisbane districts in October and November this year.
It’s alleged that the man would contact sellers of ‘Apple’ products via online marketplaces and facilitate a face to face exchange.
Upon meeting the sellers, the man would allegedly snatch the items before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.
In response to these offences, ‘Operation Quebec Proton’ was established as a partnership between the Gold Coast and Indooroopilly Criminal Investigation Branches.
Following a two-month investigation, Gold Coast detectives arrested a man at Main Beach yesterday.
A 26-year-old Main Beach man has now been charged with 12 counts of stealing from a person, four counts of robbery and a number of fraud and drug related offences.
He is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court today, Tuesday November 27.
