Lock it or lose it!
Police are again urging residents to be vigilant with the security of their vehicles after a number of recent unlawful entries to motor vehicles in North Brisbane.
Opportunistic thieves are targeting cars left unlocked, parked in driveways, secured car parks, carports and on the road. Some of the recent suburbs targeted are Chermside, Fitzgibbon, Nundah and Kalinga.
In many cases, victims have left valuable items in the car. In the past week alone, offenders have managed to walk away with cash, credit cards, spare house and vehicle keys, cash, expensive laptops, jewellery, wallets, Go Cards, e-tags, GPS units, and last but not least an eyelash crimper!
Simply parking your car in your driveway or garage is no deterrent. We need you to lock and secure your car at all times.
Remember:
Remove temptation – always lock doors and close windows when your vehicle is unattended; and
NEVER leave valuables in your vehicle.
