NAIDOC, which stands for ‘National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee’ is celebrated in July each year and showcases the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The theme for 2019 is Voice. Treaty. Truth.
The theme is a nod to 2019 being the United Nations International Year of Indigenous Languages and recognises the importance of Australians’ Indigenous voice and knowledge being heard.
