Philosophy 101: Arrest that Robot

On a recent trip to the USA, I had the opportunity to drive a vehicle with adaptive cruise control.
It was a Toyota Corolla rental car and I was unaware the vehicle even had this feature until I was on the highway.
I’m a big fan of cruise control, where your attention is focused solely on the road, rather than constantly looking down at the speedo.
While driving down the highway, I noticed the car started to decelerate without my input and I thought something was wrong with the vehicle.
It wasn’t until I looked on the digital dash that I saw the car was modifying its speed based on a radar that identified a vehicle enter my lane ahead which was travelling slower than me.
Once I got used to the feature, it effectively meant I did not have to touch the accelerator or the brake for
