Yesterday, the Gateway Crime Prevention Team hit the pavement to speak with local residents and workers who use the Kedron Brook bike way everyday to get to work or for fitness.
Police were encouraging all bike way users to be aware of their surroundings and aware of what is going on around them.
The bike way users were encouraged to also listen, trust and act on their instincts if unsure of a situation and to always carry a mobile phone whist on walks and if a crime is seen being committed to dial Triple Zero 000 immediately.
In a non-emergency situation, bike way users are encouraged to contact the local Police Station or contact Policelink on 131 444.
Police also spoke with many residents out on their daily walks with their dogs who were quickly signed up to join the ranks of Dogs on Patrol.
