North Brisbane District Police Liaison Officers engage with many community services to provide information, referral, support and awareness towards living in a safe environment.
Zillmere Community Centre often hosts many community activity groups including Zillmere Sews.
Zillmere Sews is a community initiative at the community centre where women can attend each Friday to pursue their interest in sewing.
Police Liaison Officer (PLO) Moira Davis said Zillmere Sews is a great opportunity for local community members, many of whom are multicultural to engage with other members and create something wonderful and meaningful.
It also allows PLO’s to maintain a positive relationship with local community groups.
“It is very rewarding to be involved with such a wonderful and generous group of people who want to see the neighbourhood benefit,” PLO Davis said.
Two wonderful ladies, Pamela and Betty help women understand sewing terms, how to use a sewing machine and give wonderful tips.
