Police to take on firies in AFL match this Sunday

This weekend police will take part in the annual Guns and Hoses charity football match.
Officers will take on firefighters at the South Pine sports complex, Pine Road, Brendale.
This annual event raises funds for the Salvation Army Projects which assists the less fortunate, the elderly and youth with the demands on the Salvation Army’s Services being high.
All players make a donation to play and patrons attending to watch are encouraged to make a gold coin donation.
It was initially started to thank the Salvation Army for their appearance at a large bushfire during which they provided food and refreshment for tired Fire and police crews.
The match has been supported by local sponsors, local media and AFLQ over the years and as a result almost $20K has been raised for the cause whilst actively promoting the game and QPS in a positive manner to the community.
The matches have been closely contested over the years
