Hendra Police would like to inform motorists of road closures around the Doomben Racecourse, Ascot, this Saturday May 12 due to the start of the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival.
Hampden Street, Ascot will be closed between Brassey Street and Onslow Street from 8am till 3pm, then from 3pm it will be closed from Nudgee Road to Onslow Street, with the exception of taxis.
Congestion is expected on Nudgee Road, in the vicinity of the Doomben Racecourse, due to the high volume of horse transportation, taxis and private vehicles attending the event.
Hendra Police are requesting motorists to be patient or avoid Nudgee Road, Ascot for non-essential travel during Saturday May 12.
