Protect your motorcycle from theft

There has been an increase in reported motorcycle thefts across the northern suburbs of Brisbane over the past two months.
Make sure your motorcycle is secured and stored in a safe place
Motorcycles are being stolen overnight from areas with easy access such as carports and underground carparks.
Some of these offences have been committed by simply lifting the motorcycle onto ute trays or into trucks or vans.
There are a number of things you can do to reduce the risk of having your motorcycle stolen:

Park your motorbike inside a locked garage
Secure an anchor bolt to the ground and lock your bike in each time you park
Use a strong, thick chain and lock. Keep the chain off the ground to make it harder to cut.
Secure your motorcycle to something solid that can’t be moved.
Install an alarmed disc lock – this will stop the wheel from turning and make a noise to alert witnesses
