On Monday, July 13, police attended a serious one vehicle traffic crash on Kittyhawk Drive, Chermside.
Police allege that the vehicle was witnessed driving at high speeds and the driver failed to take the corner, crashing into a light pole causing the pole to fall across the road.
Witnesses informed police that a man and a woman were allegedly seen running from the crashed vehicle into the surrounding park lands.
Police were able to form a cordon around the park lands, and with the use of the Dog Squad, were able to apprehend the man and the woman who matched the descriptions of the persons seen running from the vehicle.
The vehicle was reported stolen to police earlier on the same day from a Lutwyche shopping centre.
Police further allege that the same vehicle was linked to other offences during the afternoon.
