Between August 16 and August 22, there were four stealing offences specifically targeting laundromats.
These offences predominately occurred during the evening within the following areas:
On evening of August 16, a 24-hour laundromat at Paddington
On evening of August 18, a 24-hour laundromat at Ashgrove
On evening of August 19, a laundromat operating from 6.30am to 10pm at Everton Park
On evening of August 22, a 24-hour laundromat at Aspley
Investigations revealed that offender/s either cut, forced or drilled access to coin machines or from the actual washing and drying machines themselves.
It was likely that the offenders were aware of CCTV at the locations as they dressed to conceal their identity.
Due to some excellent investigative and intelligence work and information from the public, detectives were successful in identifying two male suspects who were subsequently arrested and charged with numerous stealing offences on August 29.
