Students get a taste of policing in Brisbane North

For some of North Brisbane and Moreton Bay’s finest students, last week marked their much anticipated three day work experience program with the QPS.
Over the course of the three days, students were given the role of Police Officer in training and were able to learn about many different areas of the QPS and the role of an officer. Included in the program were visits to Police Headquarters in Brisbane, the Queensland Police Service Academy at Oxley and many specialist areas including the crowd favourite; the dog squad.
During their visit to Police Headquarters, students were fortunate enough to gain an insight into the role of the media with a visit to the Media and Public Affairs Group. Inspector Akhavan spoke to the kids about the various divisions of the group and also explained the process for media conferences which are broadcast on TV. As a special treat for the students –
