Following a protracted investigation, detectives investigating the alleged murder of Sam Price-Purcell have today charged a 36-year-old Leyburn man with murder.
Mr Price-Purcell was last seen in the Mitchelton area on Friday, February 16, 2015. Police believe he travelled to Toowoomba, but was never seen again.
Police have conducted several enquiries during their investigations, including the forensic examination of a yellow vehicle suspected of being involved in the crime last Friday. Searches of properties at Leyburn and Helidon were also conducted earlier this year.
This morning, detectives from the Homicide Investigation Unit and Ferny Grove Criminal Investigation Branch charged the man with murder, as well as misconduct with a corpse and arson of a motor vehicle. He is due to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court today.
