Police in North Brisbane have seen the theft of 19 Nissan Patrol 4WDs with eight recovered and are reminding all vehicle owners to ensure they remain vigilant with their vehicle security.
Further, in the last 30 days, six Nissan Patrol 4WDs were reported stolen. Of these, five were stolen without keys.
Investigators believe offenders are smashing windows to gain entry to the vehicles to then remove and replace ignition barrels to mobilise them.
There have also been reports of offenders towing 4WDs using tow-straps or placing on the back of tow trucks.
Investigators hold concerns that these stolen Nisan Patrols may be re-birthed or stripped for parts.
Police encourage the community to report any suspicious behaviour and remind all motorists to ensure their vehicles are fully locked and secure at all times, with no valuables left in the vehicles.
