Police are investigating a violent burglary incident that occurred at New Farm yesterday evening.
At about 8.40pm, a group of approximately four to six men armed with a firearm and a knife entered a residence on Bowen Terrace and threatened the male occupant.
The men punched and kicked the male occupant knocking him to the ground however fled the scene shortly after when a passer-by came to his assistance.
The male occupant received minor cuts and abrasions as a result of the assault.
No property was taken.
Investigations are continuing.
