When and how should I report crime?

Have you ever been caught in a moment where you have been victimised and not known if you should report that crime, or even who to report it to? Many people have.
Hopefully by reading the below information it will assist in clarifying these questions for you.
Police rely heavily of reported crime to assist in identifying crime trends, locating offenders, and designating resources to a particular area. Put simply, without crime being reported we cannot do our job of attempting to prevent further offences and locating the offenders who have done it.
No crime is too small to report. Someone rifling through your car overnight, whilst annoying, may seem insignificant to you.  However, without knowing about it, we cannot respond.
