Number plates stolen, Chermside

Have you checked to see if your number plates are secure?
Over the weekend a number of thefts have occurred whereby offenders have removed number plates from vehicles.
In almost all of these reported incidents, the vehicles were parked on the street, allowing easy access to the number plates.
The majority of these offences occurred within the suburb of Chermside including Mylne Street, Ethel Street, Zenith Avenue, Thomas Street, Hamilton Road and Kelso Street.
What you can do
• Park your vehicle in well-lit and highly visible areas whenever possible
• Wherever possible, use off street parking or secured parking
• When parking in a garage, ensure both the garage and vehicle are locked and the garage door remotes are secured
• Secure your registration plates with anti-theft screws
