U4Ks returning back to our local community

School holidays can be a tough time for many parents and children.
But for the children who are victims to domestic and family violence, it can be an especially challenging time as their ‘normal’ routine is  broken, and they spend a larger amount of time in their home environment, which can be full of anger, unhealthy relationships and not a time of rest.
This school holidays the North Brisbane ‘Vulnerable Persons Unit’ were part of a team that took a group of 19 children away for a fun camp experience.
They had a couple of nights away from their home environment and got to take part in outdoor activities, have healthy meals prepared for them and be surrounded by  staff who can empathise and support them in their journey.
Our lovely Uniforms4Kids volunteer sewer, Maria, put together some beautiful clothes for the children to wear whilst on their camp.
