Boondall Station farewells retiring Inspector Mark Jones

Officers and staff from Boondall Police Station have farewelled Inspector Mark Jones following a career of almost 45 years in the Service.

Inspector Jones started his career at the young age of 15, following in the footsteps of his father Robert (Bob), who served as a police officer for 37 years.
When asked why he joined the police, Inspector Jones said he had always wanted to help people and make life better for members of the community.
“The Academy cadet program gave me the opportunity to finish my senior education and start with the QPS and it was the best decision I’ve made,” Inspector Jones said.
“My father was a decorated police officer and I’m very proud to have continued in his footsteps.”
